Trainings and Workshops
Join us for a YA approved CEU workshop Jan 26-28.
Our approach to yoga is that every BODY can benefit from a practice that is mindful and tailored to individual needs.
For teachers, this workshop will give you the tools to masterfully work with any student who shows up to class.
PLEASE NOTE: Changes may be made to the order of subjects in the schedule.
Training will be held at
The Energy Collaborative, 640 White Ave., Grand Junction

Greater Equity in Yoga Classes
CEU and Certificate Workshop for Teachers
with Jody Ford
In our Western culture, the focus of yoga is often on appearance and achieving the perfect Instagram “full expression” image of a yoga posture rather than on individual ability and personal growth.
This has created a perception of exclusivity, as well as real gaps in yoga class options for the beginner and differently-abled populations which continues to leave them underserved or not served at all.
These training workshops will supplement your current asana teaching practice to expand opportunity, accessibility, and inclusion for a greater number of potential students in your community especially where there may be few or no such opportunities available.
Support, Empower and Inspire
YOU WILL LEARN:
What Equity means in yoga classes.
Populations that are underserved in the field of yoga.
Trauma sensitivity and how to adapt your classes to accommodate students to help them feel less vulnerable.
Variation and alignment language.
Practical ways to make yoga accessible for almost everyone.
Learn how to make your classes, language and teaching spaces accessible and welcoming for those with differing abilities, needs, ages and backgrounds.
Using aids to help students who may need support.
46 asana with over 200 variations and how to apply them in your classes.

ORGANIZATIONS THAT WE PARTNER WITH
ORANGE DOOR COMMUNITY WELLNESS
Established 2022
In 2022, Orange Door Yoga became Orange Door Community Wellness, a 501c3 non-profit organization. We continue to address the need for financially accessible wellness activities by offering $5 dollar regular classes (yoga), FREE or low cost educational “try it” classes (acupuncture, ortho-bionomy, meditation and ayurveda) and special events and workshops which rarely exceed $20 (gong meditation and Avita Yoga). We also offer social/emotional support opportunities such as grief support, bookclub, kids yoga and classes for those persons in recovery from addiction. We recognize that wellness is physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social and we strive to provide opportunities in all these areas.
